I just had a friend ask me why folding 1000 Paper Cranes is such a big deal... so I'm thinking that question might come up again.
So here is the short answer:

An old Japanese legend said that anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes so pleases the gods, the folder is granted a wish.

I'll do some more research and give the long answer later.

PostScript: I guess saying I just wanna is not enough

Well its day three and yesterday was sort of a bust only getting a few cranes folded and today was spent getting the site in order.
Also I joined a few LJ groups in the hopes that they will help keep me accountable and in the same vein I'm giong to go ahead and notify all my friends who will only look at a jounal if it's attached to the XXspace of time sucking. You don't have to be an LJ member to leave a comment... so go ahead and tell me how crazy I am to try this or just be sure to put my feet to the fire.

Today marks the first step in my attempt at folding 1000 paper cranes.

I woke up rather early with the idea and decided to pull myself out of bed in order to set myself firm to the task.
